We from ELE.IMSOL would like to spread the news about the new Hispanic Linguistics portal, whose main objective is the research and spreading of Hispanic linguistics. This project has been created from the HISPANEX program as part of the actions taken by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of Spain in order to promote and spread the Spanish language and Hispanic culture. This program offers scholarships to help and further cultural cooperation with foreign universities.
The portal has just been launched, but we think that it will soon be of great importance because it contains important resources for the different sectors interested in the field of Hispanic linguistics such as researchers, teachers and students. The portal is an additional support to the recently published book “Introducción a la lingüística hispánica actual: teoría y práctica“ (An Introduction to current Hispanic Linguistics: theory and practice).
“Introducción a la lingüística hispánica actual: teoría y práctica“ has been written to respond to the growing demand of studies of Spanish and Hispanic linguistics in Anglo-Saxon countries such as the UK and the States. This may just have been an excuse, but the published book is also quite interesting for Hispanic Linguistics courses in other geographical regions and all the Spanish-speaking countries.
The website hispaniclinguistics.com is a support to the book’s contents, but it will surely be an equally useful resource for you. It contains the following topics:
- basic concepts
- phonology and phonetics
- semantics and pragmatics
- history of the language
